A Mount Lebanon High School student has been arrested on charges of "sex-related offenses and threats," the district said Wednesday.

Mount Lebanon police spokesman Lt. Aaron Lauth said the 17-year-old teen is facing charges in connection with his involvement in three separate incidents. Lauth said the teen's charges include rape, assault, unlawful restraint, false imprisonment, two counts of indecent assault, aggravated indecent assault, indecent exposure, terroristic threats and harassment.

Police said the first incident, which was the most serious matter and occurred inside the teen's vehicle, happened in September, but it was only reported Monday. The second incident occurred at the teen's house in 2010, while the third incident involved text messages, investigators said.

Police said they found out about the two other incidents while investigating the September incident.

Lauth said the teen was taken from court to the Shuman Center.

In a statement, the district said the alleged assaults did not occur on school property.

The following is a statement from the Mount Lebanon School District:

"Mt. Lebanon School District administrators received information that the Mt. Lebanon Police Department has arrested a Mt. Lebanon High School student on allegations of sex-related offenses and threats. None of the assaults are alleged to have occurred on school property. The District has and will continue to fully cooperate with the police in their investigation of these allegations.

"As always, the District's primary concern is the safety and security of our students. Parents of all high school students are being informed of the arrest by the high school administration.

"Since this matter is the subject of a continuing police investigation, and due to issues of student confidentiality, the District is unable to provide any further details about this matter. Questions related to the arrest should be directed to the Mt. Lebanon Police Department."
