Finmeccanica Unit Said to Win Israel Order for Training Aircraft - Bloomberg
Finmeccanica SpA (FNC) won an order for 30 training jets from the Israeli air force, according to three people with knowledge to the matter.
Israel will buy 30 M346 planes from Rome-based Finmeccanica’s Alenia Aermacchi unit, said the people, who declined to be identified before a formal announcement. The value of the contract is about $1 billion, according to one of the people.
Israel will purchase training jets for its air force from Italy, an Israeli defense official said earlier today, speaking anonymously because he wasn’t authorized to be identified. A Finmeccanica spokesman declined to comment.
