Dubai filmmaker to star in new UK tourism marketing campaign - ArabianBusiness.com

Dubai filmmaker Ali F. Mostafa has been recruited by the British tourism board to feature in its latest marketing campaign to raise awareness in the UAE of the UK as an attractive tourism destination.

Mostafa, who directed City of Life, lived and studied in Britain and will take part in the ‘Great Britain You’re Invited’ media campaign.

The latest marketing effort by the Visit Britain tourism agency, Mostafa will join a cast of celebrities in the film, including Dame Judi Dench, Dev Patel and Jamie Oliver.

“Having spent considerable time in the UK, I have a close affinity to the country’s traditions and character not least because my experiences in London were a major catalyst for me to become a film director,” said Mostafa.

As a part of his new role as a UAE Goodwill Ambassador, Mostafa has directed and produced a short film sharing his personal views on Britain.

“It is a tribute to the UAE, and an honour for Britain to welcome Ali F. Mostafa as UAE Goodwill Ambassador,” said Carol Maddison, UAE manager of VisitBritain.

The ‘Great Britain You’re Invited’ campaign will is also set to recruit other global Goodwill Ambassadors in India, China and the US as it is rolled out over the year.
